Four years ago, I began my running journey and signed up for my first ever race (Free Press 5k), thinking that it was a one-time thing. For the record, the course ran literally right around my apartment complex, so I had zero excuse to not do it and worst case scenario, I could bow out mid-race if I couldn't handle it. Full disclosure: Something inside me changed during that race and I cried tears of joy crossing that finish line...and every single finish line since!
It humbles and motivates me to raise money for a cause that I am so dedicated and passionate about. United Way for Southeastern Michigan isn't just a place I work, but an organization that I feel deeply connected to. Please consider donating to support the incredible work being done in our community.
In case you were wondering about my Free Press Marathon history:
Year 1: 5k (a moderate amount of tears)
Year 2: International half marathon (way more ugly tears)
Year 3: 1-Mile, 5k and international half marathon (exponentially more sweaty, snotty tears and the photo evidence was shared via Free Press for all to see)
This year: international FULL marathon (TBD: full emotional breakdown?!)

Either way, I appreciate your support!
