My name is Ivy Martin and I am 22 years old. I was diagnosed with a rare disease called bilateral anterior scleritis in 2017. Scleritis is a severe, destructive, vision-threatening inflammation involving the deep episclera and sclera. Treatments include corticosteroids, NSAIDs, and immunosuppressants, however there is no cure. Very little research has been done on scleritis. However Dr. Lucia Sobrin at Mass. Eye and Ear Infirmary, who has been my doctor for about 3 years now, continues to research ways doctors can better understand scleritis and find a way to cure this disease. This fall I am planning to put together a 3 mile run/walk in Lynn, Massachusetts. My goal is to raise $2500.00 to donate to Dr. Sobrin's research at MEEI. Thank you in advance for any type of donation!
