Parkinson’s is a complex condition that causes a gradual decline in mental and physical health, and my Dad suffered from it for several years before passing in November of 2016. As I was grieving from the huge loss of the best man I knew, I began to do what I loved the most to clear my thoughts, and that was running. I wanted to help others that were hurting from the pain of the uncertaintity and stumbled across The National Parkinson’s Foundation. I immediately signed up to run The Big Sur Marathon and was so blessed to raise the funds to participate. The support and love I felt from all my friends and family was incredibly rewarding. It filled my heart with hope for other families that are fighting the same battles. Thank you to everyone who contributed in the past. I look forward to the challenge this year and raising awareness for those in need. Let’s crush this fundraiser!
