As some of you know, my family was hit hard by cancer over the last year.
My mother Josie passed away from lung cancer in February, and my sister Theresa passed away from esophageal cancer in April. They were both the heart and soul of our family. They would light up any room they were in, and had a special way of making you feel completely at ease when you were with them.
I will be running the Boston Marathon virtually on the streets of New York in memory of them both. I hope you will consider supporting me by donating to the American Cancer Society.
During my run, I will draw upon the inspiration from a special Canadian, Terry Fox. His story of resilience, determination and hard work is the stuff of legend. Every year, people around the world run to raise money for cancer research during the annual "Terry Fox Run". To my American friends, please learn more about Terry's story here.
I know that 2020 has been a challenging year, so anything you can donate is appreciated.
My family and I thank you. Together we will find a cure for cancer!
