Run for ALS in Coney Island
Hi all! This year I am running in the Brooklyn Cyclones Coney Island Classic 5k on Saturday July 14th. The race benefits the ALS Association Greater New York chapter. I am running independently but I wanted to use this opportunity to raise some extra money for the ALS Association. Any little bit helps- even just $1! Please consider donating if you can!
Here is some more information on the ALS Association:
"The ALS Association Greater New York Chapter’s believes that a world without ALS is possible, and our mission is to discover treatments and ultimately a cure for this deadly disease. Until that day, we empower people affected by ALS to live their lives to the fullest.
ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease) is a fatal neurodegenerative disease that effects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. The life expectancy of an ALS patient is 3 to 5 years. ALS has no treatment or cure and the cause is still unknown, but The ALS Association is on the forefront to understanding and eradicating this horrible disease.
All funds raised help fund cutting-edge research, provide supportive care and services to over 800 ALS patients in the region, and advocate to pass vital legislation that will empower the ALS Community."
