Katie Nadig (aka Snoop NaDOGG)--
It's like this and like that and like this and uh…..Joining a club is typically a positive experience, one made voluntarily, and with enthusiasm for the subject! This club, however, is a little different. It is comprised of a unique group of people, none of whom asked to join. This club is one that nobody ever wants to belong to: parents who have lost a child. But…..this club is filled with some of the best people I have ever met. Of course, we all wish that we would have met another way- any other way really. So, when a friend and fellow club member asked me to dance in memory of her son, I just said yes. I plan to drop it like it’s hot! When DIPG was first discovered, there was a 0% survival rate. Decades later, despite medical advances in other areas, this statistic has not changed, and this is not acceptable. As it stands now, DIPG is akin to a death sentence. Chad never had a fighting chance. ChadTough is working hard to change this! So, as a 40-year-old member of ‘da club who has studied and competed in zero genres of dance, Katie’s goal is to not hurt herself while dancing, raise money and awareness for ChadTough, and have fun! Sit back, enjoy Dancing with the ChadTough Stars as you sip on gin(ger ale) and juice….. laid back (with your mind on ChadTough and ChadTough on your mind)!
Zoe Thompson (aka Lil’ Zoe)--
Zoe was born in Ashland, Ohio, and started dancing at the age of 44. With no formal training, Lil’ Zoe learned her moves on the streets of Saline and is now recognized as the world's famous, Lil' Zoe, Queen Bee! Over the years Lil’ Zoe has worked with artists such as Snoop NaDOGG, Lisa Left Feet, Sean(a) B-Diddy Hendricks, and C-Mac to name a few. When Tammi and Jason received the news that Chad’s tumor and prognosis was not good, Zoe knew then and there that she never wanted to watch another parent suffer at the hand of DIPG. While others have tried to emulate Lil’ Zoe’s style, few can match her fierce rhythm and honest commitment to ChadTough. As humans, we are problems solvers. We want to fix things, to find ways to get past problems and challenges. The loss of a child is not fixable. So, if we can’t fix things for those we love, how we do help? Well, Zoe dances and raises awareness and funds for ChadTough! So grab your magic stick and get ready to say “whoa” as Lil’ Zoe takes the stage!
Seana Hendricks (aka Sean(a) B-Diddy Hendricks)--
Can’t nobody hold her down…Oh no! She’s got to keep on movin’! B-diddy debuted her stage skills as Mother Nature in a fourth-grade skit and starred as Vanilla Ice in a High School skit. To say her skills are varied is an understatement as it wasn’t until the ripe age of 40 that she discovered her passion and talents for the dance floor. An out-of-order death such as child loss can break a person; constantly balancing grief in one hand and a happy life after loss in the other. Staying by your friend's side through the loss of a child can also be challenging and scary; in part, because it will inevitably change you as well. Seana has, however, repeatedly found ways to step up and help ChadTough: participating in ChadTough garage sales, volunteering on the Chadtough Gala Committee, and now as a ChadTough Dancer. The Beilein and Carr family are connected through collegiate sports and now also through their commitment to fighting DIPG. B-Diddy knows that life ain't always what it seems to be and words can't express what ChadTough means to her. Now get ready to see Sean(a) on the hot track tonight, melt like it’s hot wax because for her it’s all about raising the Benjamins to find a cure for DIPG.
Lisa Mattison Roberts (aka Lisa Left Feet)--
Lisa, owner of Rock Paper Scissors and better known by her stage name Lisa “Left Feet”, is an American hip-hop dancer. Unconfirmed reports and rumors have it that Lisa learned her dance moves from Chad’s Aunt Melissa while Melissa babysat Lisa back in the day. Regardless of where Lisa learned her moves, she is a well-trained student of dance and once you see her fist pump and awkward shoulder shrug you simply can’t unsee them!Lisa and the Carr family are also connected through collegiate sports. Playing collegiate sports, much like fighting DIPG, takes a certain level of grit and determination. Lisa is well aware that getting a “Win” on the field or in the cancer research lab takes a lot of effort and perseverance. When Lisa learned of the ChadTough fight against DIPG, she put on her game face and signed up for the fight. Left Feet has been involved since the beginning, but most recently she has laced up her dancing shoes and hit the dance floor. There is no doubt that the reflexes and toughness she developed as a Notre Dame Softball player contributed to becoming the dancer that she is today! Left Feet, while dedicated to collegiate sports and ChadTough, has also spent a disturbing amount of time learning the lyrics and dance moves to Missy Elliott songs. So, sit back and enjoy the show as Lisa “pushes it real good” to help find a cure for DIPG!
Carolyn McFarlane (aka C-Mac)--
Carolyn is no stranger to the stage as she made her debut in 2nd grade as Mary Poppins. In fact, C-Mac is practically perfect in every way on the dance floor.People can’t truly understand the magnitude of losing a child. The reality is unless you have walked the path, you’ll never understand. Carolyn followed Chad’s story from the start and knew then and there that she never wanted to watch another parent suffer at the hand of DIPG. The Carr's have modeled such strength and endurance in the fight against DIPG and are really making a difference in their son’s memory. C-Mac was motivated to join in the ChadTough fight. The fight against DIPG is a big one, but please, you gotta keep ya' head up because with the help of ChadTough, things for DIPG patients are going to get easier!
People hear C-Mac talking about ChadTough, getting everybody fired up!
She’s gonna dance, gonna give it her all
Gonna make DIPG fall, gonna sock it to ya
That's right, She’s the last one standing, until DIPG bites the dust.
The mysterious, magical, hip-hop inspired Mary Poppins returns to audiences again this time as a ChadTough dancer. And, while hip hop dancer C-Mac most definitely is a spoonful of sugar in real life, she ain’t no Hollaback girl on the dance floor!
Run D.M.Saline-- Run D.M.Saline is an American hip hop group, founded in 2019 by Seana Hendricks (Sean(a) B-Diddy Hendricks), Carolyn McFarlane(C-Mac), Zoe Thompson (Lil ‘Zoe), Lisa Mattison Roberts (Lisa Left Feet), and Katie Nadig (Snoop NaDOG). Run D.M.Saline is widely acknowledged as one of the most influential acts in the history of Saline hip hop culture. You are bound to be impressed with their skills on the dance floor as Tu-Pac, Biggie, and Dr. Dre basically raised these 5 women. All five members of Run D.M.Saline are considered irreplaceable by the other members, and each of them has contributed equally to the group. This groups’ accolades are, in fact, too numerous to mention. DIPG- it’s Tricky…(How is it?) Tricky (Tricky) Tricky (Tricky), but these 5 have banded together in the fight against DIPG. Run D.M.Saline will take the dance floor and use their talents to raise money and awareness for ChadTough to be used in the fight against DIPG. Be sure to check out The ChadTough Foundation for more information on how to join in the fight.
Tonya Hoskins (aka T$)--
This number was choreographed by Tonya (T$) Hoskins who instructs and choreographs for Dance Xplosion in Milan, Michigan. The space for rehearsal was provided by Heidi Wuerthele, owner of Dance Xplosion. Tonya was lucky enough to babysit Chad and then be his preschool teacher. Chad stole her heart from the first time they met and she learned quickly she couldn’t say no to his angelic face. Even if that meant dancing and singing “Gangnam Style” over and over again. She is honored to do anything for the Carr family who has always been so generous and inspirational.
This “anything”, however, turned into teaching five 40-year old women how to dance. Some of the bloopers and outtakes that she has witnessed she will never be able to unsee. To say these 5 have come along way is an understatement. Run D.M.Saline owes all of their dance floor talent to T$. She is, however, grateful that this ChadTough fundraiser allowed her to spend her last trimester of her 3rd pregnancy grooving with 5 of the finest hip hoppers Saline has ever seen!
