In Memory of Allie Barreiro...
On February 27, 2018, we lost a uniquely beautiful, caring, wonderful soul to suicide. She touched so many lives in so many ways, and she will forever be missed.
“I think the saddest people always try their hardest to make people happy because they know what it’s like to feel absolutely worthless and they don’t want anyone else to feel like that.” ~ Robin Williams
Suicide is a serious public health problem that affects people of all ages. It is the 10th leading cause of death for Americans and has been among the top 12 leading causes of death since 1975 in the United States. Many people are uncomfortable with the topic of suicide. As a result, people rarely communicate openly about suicide. Thus, an important public health problem is left hidden in secrecy, which can hinder effective prevention efforts." (CDC.gov)
We believe Allie will continue to be a beautiful shining light in our world. Please help me raise funds so that she can help at least one person defeat his or her internal struggle. On May 20th, I will be running the York Half Marathon. Any and every donation is appreciated.
