Overnight between Sunday, Jan. 26 and Monday, Jan. 27 vandalism struck in the Reading Public Museum's 25-acre Arboretum causing hundreds of thousands of dollars’ worth of damage. A bronze sculpture was knocked off its pedestal and broken, and benches were once again damaged after being overturned in usually tranquil Trudy's Garden.
Much of the community is stunned by the acts that not only affected The Museum, but the Wyomissing Park and some of the neighboring homes along Parkside Drive North and Park Road.
Several community members have reached out to inquire about helping by making donations to help offset some of the costs of upcoming repairs. If you are willing and able and interested in supporting the RPM Arboretum, please support through this Go Fund Me campaign, which will help beautify The Museum grounds once again. The Museum staff and Board appreciate all of the concern voiced by the community and are so thankful for the ongoing support.
