Royal Family KIDS is about treating people royally, making moments matter and moving forward. In the summer, abused and neglected children in the foster care system from Wayne, Washtenaw and Oakland Counties come to camp for FREE. Over 70 volunteers take time off work and away from their families to let those kids know that they are loved and there is hope. We give them positive memories that can change their course in life forever.
Last year, I volunteered at Royal Family Kids Camp for the first time. It was a step outside of my comfort zone, and one of the best decisions I've made in my entire life. Royal Family gave me the opportunity to spend a week showing many of God's broken children what it's like to be a kid and be loved. My week at camp volunteering changed my entire life. It gave me a new lens to view a myriad of different situations in my life, as well as give me a whole new empathy for those children struggling every single day. I can think of no place I'd rather spend a week in my summer than volunteering with Royal Family Kids, and that's why I'm going back to camp this year!
This is a journey however, that I cannot complete alone. First and foremost, I'm asking for an army of prayer warriors for constant prayers for myself, all of the other volunteers going to and helping with camp this year, and for all of the campers that will be attending. It is through God's grace that this camp has been successful thus far, and through His grace that we will have another successful camp this June. Secondly, I ask for your consideration to donate to the cause! The $450 that I hope to raise will fully fund one of the campers to attend camp this year. Every dollar counts and will assist my journey in trying to make a difference in the lives of some of our campers.
I thank you all for your prayers and donations. God is good.
