24 Hours of Stratton is a team charity event that will be held March 16th to raise money for the Stratton Community Foundation. The event is a 24-hour ski race to raise money fight poverty in Southern Vermont. Yes...it will be fun, but more importantly, it's for a great cause, and I am humbly asking for your support & sponsorship. This is a small charity with very small overhead, so every dollar helps!
Some background on the cause: Vermont is a great place to visit, but long winters, high cost of living, and seasonal employment make it a challenging place to raise a family. Up to 80% of Vermont children live at or below poverty, with limited resources. At least 1 out of every 3 families depends on food pantries to feed their children and the rural geography limits access to health and dental care.
Unfortunately, the cycle of poverty can persist over generations in families where education and health is too often a lost priority. The goal of the Stratton Foundation is to break this cycle and put children and familes on a path to success and economic independence.
