Support Rosie Riveters President & Vice President (Brittany & Katie) and their daughters Veronica & Gracie (age 5) as they run in this year's Courage to Run 5K and Fun Run! And, yes, they'll all be sporting Rosie headbands as they make their way around the course!
Rosie Riveters (www.RosieRiveters.com) is a 501 c3 non-profit committed to equipping and inspiring girls (aged 4-14) in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). For many young girls and women the biggest stumbling block they face is a lack of confidence. Our hands-on and interactive programs are structured to remodel girls' relationships with failure, improve critical thinking and problem solving skills, and inspire engagement via projects and role models that highlight the world of STEM. It follows that in order to fix the STEM pipeline our organization embraces an even bigger goal - to encourage young women to delete the words “I can’t” from their vocabulary, believe in their own ability to succeed, and always be confident enough to try.
All of Rosie Riveters programs are open to the general public and are completely FREE OF CHARGE. Currently, we are $1,000.00 away from funding our Fall 2018 program. All of the funds raised from our participation in the Courage to Run 5K will directly support this funding goal. As soon as it is reached, we can release dates for public registration and provide opportunities to the 150 children on our waitlist as well as the 300 girls we've already had the privilege to serve.
As an organization that actively builds girls' confidence to try - in STEM and beyond - we can't wait to take part in the Courage to Run 5k's nonpartisan celebration of women who are engaging civically and bravely running for office.
