Your generosity has allowed Rose of Sharon Equestrian School to accomplish Phase I of the WOW Campaign: Our goal? To purchase and insure a high-top cargo van, capable of hauling our miniature horses (Ginger and Cooper) to off-site locations.
A special thank you to the Bearman Family who provided the lead gift for this project and to everyone who has participated so far in our Whinnies on Wheels (WOW) Campaign to put ROSES on the Road!
We are in now in the process of completing the following:
Phase II: Provide safe and serviceable transportation for the minis, their portable stall, an instructor, a horse-handler, and all the equipment and materials needed to provide equine-facilitated learning at schools, hospitals, senior-care facilities, and detention centers around the Towson-Baltimore area and beyond through a series of up-fitting and outfitting efforts. During this phase, we will also be designing a vehicle wrap to showcase ROSES-in-action along with information explaining how to reach us for future off-site program opportunities.
Phase III: Obtain insurance and required veterinary clearance to take the miniature horses to off-site locations. Acclimate Ginger and Cooper to loading/unloading, traveling, and teaching in a variety of new locations. Conduct volunteer training and practice-runs to determine travel schedules; develop set-up and tear-down procedures for the portable stall; all designed to make the mobile mini outreach project run efficiently.
Phase IV: Launch the Mobile Mini Outreach Project! ROSES will be on the Road by early spring 2020, going the extra mile for individuals with special needs who cannot come to us. Can you imagine? Looking out of your classroom, hospital ward, or detention unit window and seeing the ROSES Mobile Mini Unit pulling up with Cooper and Ginger onboard...WOW!
With your support, ROSES will be on the Road reaching more children, youth, and seniors who are waiting to reap the benefits of this powerful program at locations around the Baltimore metropolitan area! Look for us on the highway!
