Join us on Handies Peak Saturday August 17th! 

Your registration includes a ROMP shirt, breakfast, snacks, a summit celebration surprise, AND MORE (including camping Friday night)! 

Everyone is welcome to join the team Friday night for an all inclusive camping experience at the trailhead. We will start early for Handies Peak summit on Saturday morning! 

This ROMP event is supported by Backcountry Experience, Mountain Hardwear, Osprey, Outdoor Research, Kahtoola, Stanley, Kling Mountain Guides, Tailwind Nutrition and eNZees Foot Soother. 

Well have a camp with tents and food set up by Mountain Hardwear at the trail head at Grouse Gulch, 9 miles up County Road 2 outside Silverton, Colorado. Mountain Hardwear will also set up their Space Station basecamp tent, where they will serve dinner Friday Night and breakfast and coffee Saturday morning before the climb, and with enough interest, dinner Saturday night.  

Kling Mountain Guides will be joining us, mostly to provide permitting but also as emergency and medical support. 

Shwag surprises and summit celebration included!

Story

2019 is the 5th annual global Climbing for ROMP event. This climb is one of 50 climbs happening around the world with the goal to raise money for amputees who need prosthetic care.

Climbing for ROMP allows us to directly translate physical mobility around the world. So when you sign up and go climb, walk, hike, or run, you are helping a ROMP patient take their first steps. VERTICAL FEET FOR PROSTHETIC FEET!

When you fundraise or donate, here’s how your dollars directly impact a ROMP patient:

$150 provides a new prosthetic foot

$250 provides a new prosthetic knee

$300 provides a new socket

$1,000 provides a new prosthetic device to someone in need and follow up care!
