Since 1990, the "I Have A Dream" Foundation of Boulder County has served more than 1,000 local youth from low-income communities, and currently has 12 active Dreamer Scholar classes or cohorts of students in Boulder Valley School District and St. Vrain Valley School District. The "I Have A Dream" model, with its one-on-one attention and daily programming, has proven to narrow the opportunity gap.
One of these 12 classes is the Rocky Mountain Class of 8th graders, based at Trail Ridge Middle School in Longmont.
In March 2020, 20 Rocky Mountain students have the opportunity to go with the "I Have A Dream" staff on a 12-day trip to England, France, and Spain during spring break, getting the chance to experience European culture firsthand. This is a life-changing opportunity that will impact the rest of these students' lives.
The students' families have been saving for almost four (!) years at $20/week for this trip. This covers all costs ($3,400 total) except lunch and required tips for students' tour guides.
WE NEED YOUR HELP TO RAISE THE REMAINING FUNDS!
We needed $4,880 and already raised over a third of that. We still need $4,000 to provide lunch for students and tips for tour guides ($12/lunch and $10/tips per person, approximately $250 per student). The extra $1,000 (which we added on November 8, 2019) is to help with further unexpected costs that always happen while traveling abroad, so that students and families do not have to shoulder any unexpected.
Will you help us?
All funds raised through this campaign will go DIRECTLY to our students.
WE NEED TO RAISE FUNDS BY JANUARY 31, 2020.
