Welcome to our 5th Annual Fundraiser for Mesothelioma. Mesothelioma is a form of cancer that is caused by asbestos. This cancer can line the abdomen, lungs, or heart. It is an aggressive form of cancer with a prognosis of 6-12 months.
My dad, Bruce, was diagnosed 11 years ago with peritoneal Mesothelioma. At the time of diagnosis, he too was given a prognosis of 6 months to live. Since 2008, he has undergone two major surgeries to remove his tumors along with two intense treatments of heated chemotherapy to help prolong his life. Today, he continues to stand in remission with slow regrowth, but we continue to raise funds so that clinical trials can continue to help prolong the lives of others who are diagnosed with this horrible disease.
Over the last 5 years of fundraising our family has been fortunate to cross paths with other Meso Warriors and their amazing families. Each year we memorialize Thomas Amato, who lost his 4 year battle with Mesothelioma in 2014. Last year, we were honored to meet the Edwards family, the Harder family, and the Yuhas family who all came together to spread awareness and to take strides to find a cure! We are excited to make a mark on year 5 and get Rockin' for Meso!
