Rockdale Tiger Flight is a 501c3 dedicated to promoting aviation for youth and adults. We are building a Zenith 601HDS and we have agreed to purchase 5 vintage Piper airplanes. We have a NE-1, which is a Navy version of a Piper J3, including the log books dated back to 1942. We have a Piper Clipper, that has been sitting in a hangar for 6+ years. We also have 3 Vagabonds in many parts. We are planning on restoring all of these planes and hope to fly the NE-1 to Oshkosh next year. We have a facebook page titled Rockdale Tiger Flight, which will show you what we have done since beginning in 2014. Once we complete an airplane we will start low cost flight instruction for the youth that have been helping with the building of these airplanes. We need the money to help with the purchase of the airplanes and then the restoring of the airplanes. Many of the kids that have participated have enrolled in aeronautical engineering and/or pilot training. We are located at the Rockdale Coffield Airport (KRCK) in the main hanger. We have people that come from Austin, Georgetown, Belton, Cedar Park, Round Rock and other neighboring towns.
