During my 18th week of pregnancy we got word that one of the tests for the baby came back abnormal and we were sent for more testing. By 22 weeks of pregnancy the doctors detected something wrong with the baby's heart and by December 18th, 2017 ( 1 week before Christmas) we meet with the team at Children's National Hospital for specialized ultrasounds of the heart. There is was determined the baby has a narrow aorta and would most likely require corrective surgery. By week 30 of the pregnancy it was confirmed, that 1-3 days after the baby is born, the baby will need corrective heart surgery and so began the journey into the unknown, the world of CHD and Robbie.
Robbie has done so well! We've hit a few rough patches since he's been home, but he amazes us every day. And anyone who's met him knows he's the happiest kid out there.
Consider being one of Robbie's runners. Supporting Mended Little Hearts, and organization that helped support us when he was born, continues to support heart families in their toughest moments.
