Your contribution will help The Friends of Kachemak Bay State Park take steps towards creating access to part of the Park on the North (Homer) side of the Bay.
Kachemak Bay State Park's Cottonwood/Eastland 2,635 acre Unit on the Homer side of Kachemak Bay, near mile 17 East End Road has great possibilities for multi-use trails, including beach access for horses, hikers, and cyclists. Although this has been part of Kachemak Bay State Park for over 30 years, it has not been developed. Access is needed from East End Road and this is only possible thru a state owned parcel adjacent to the Park.
The Friends of Kachemak Bay State Park are raising this money to submit an Interagency Land Management Assignment (ILMA) to the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) to add this 46 acres of state property to the Cottonwood/Eastland Unit of Kachemak Bay State Park - which will then allow access from East End Road.
To submit an ILMA to DNR costs $2,400. Any funds raised above $2,400 will be used to begin the process of providing access to the C/E Unit from East End Road.
