Riverside International School is raising funds for a malaria control and prevention program and service project in Busia, Kenya through a partnership wtih Global Health Interaction. It is a school-wide challenge and includes individual personal challenges as well as challenges issued through our Skills for Life Clubs. We pledge to meet our challenges by May 31, 2018 and we ask for your sponsorship and encouragement to do so!
All funds raised will go towards the purchase of diagnostic laboratory equipment, mosquito nets, drugs for treatment of malaria and a variety of nursery seedlings to model agroforestry (a natural prevention for mosquito population growth). These will be provided for the Mundaya Community Clinic in Busia County and the nursery seedlings will be a part of a service project carried out by Riverside School students in June 2018. Our aim is to reduce the prevalence of malaria within this rural community by both preventing its spread and treating those infected.
