Our community needs your help. Many of our immigrant students and alumni are among the hardest hit by the pandemic’s social and economic impact. To support them during this critical moment, Riverside is launching a fund to distribute small emergency grants for food and other necessities immediately. Your gift today will go straight to a Riverside community member in need.
Now through April 20: Your gift will be matched at 1:1 up to $10,000, thanks to the generous support of two Riverside donors.
We have already heard from countless students and alumni who have been laid off from jobs or are unable to work because they no longer have access to childcare and other support systems. Typically, about 90% of our working students have been employed in the service industry. Many work in restaurants and shops that are now closed or have reduced staffing significantly. Some are Uber and Lyft drivers who have seen ridership decrease dramatically with each passing day. In the midst of the pandemic, and with no immediate resources to turn to, they are desperate.
You can help and your gift today will have double the impact! Riverside is asking you to contribute to a small fund already in place to help our students most in need. With your support, we can build up those limited resources to distribute these emergency relief grants to students and alumni.
Riverside is trusted by our students and alumni, and we have the capacity to turn around quick and immediate resources that can have a significant impact on the lives of our community members and their families.
Now is the time to act. We must all step up and support those most in need. We hope you will help us.
Your gift of any amount will go a long way!
