For months, nearly half the population have been struggling to survive with no electricity and access to safe drinking water since Hurricane Maria hit the small island in September 2017. With damages estimated at $45-95 billion by Moody’s Analytics, it’s a devastating blow to an already fragile economy currently dealing with a huge debt crisis (over $70 billion in debt).
