THE CAUSE
For months, nearly half the population have been struggling to survive with no electricity and access to safe drinking water since Hurricane Maria hit the small island in September 2017. With damages estimated at $45-95 billion by Moody’s Analytics, it’s a devastating blow to an already fragile economy currently dealing with a huge debt crisis (over $70 billion in debt). But with this destruction, lay the opportunity to rebuild Puerto Rico’s infrastructure with sustainable technologies for a better economic future.
