With the recent increase in violence in urban neighborhoods, active shooter incidents, domestic violence, human trafficking, and civic unrest, local faith oriented nonprofits and service organizations collaborate in creating a local response center. We can no longer look to municipal or governmental entities to solve community concerns. Political dysfunction and corrupt bureaucracies mark a significant decline in the allocation of taxpayer dollars to support critical needs in hurting and underserved communities! Grant dollars historically go to organizations with top heavy administrative cost and little to no programming and support impact. A collective of local groups in the faith community unify their mission objectives to create a proficient service plan that pools resources and gathers service talent and expertise under one roof. This complement of grassroots organizations, known as the RISE Outreach Coalition, represents a combined service plan of more than 80 years of experience. Recognizing the need to adapt to regional trends that demonstrate a decline in public trust and a rise in criminality, these organizations answer the biblical challenge to become a unified force for community transformation and lasting change! This vision is realized in the formation of the RISE NOW Center for Missional & Community Supports!
The RISE NOW Center will provide a myriad of supports and services as community & outreach leaders ban together to advance a more proficient system for social response and community programming, addressing those challenges like active shooter, domestic, and youth violence, human trafficking, chronic homelessness, addictions, and community policing. Services will include comprehensive counseling care, life skills and workforce development, financial literacy, and individual and family advocacy. The Center will also host targeted supports for returning citizens and recovering addicts, offering foundational supports and continuity of care! The most important offering is the love and support of professionals who can identify with the struggles of life and point the way to success!
The Missional goal of the Center is to spiritually enlighten and strengthen individuals, support family units, and men and women in times of critical need. The Center will also serve as headquarters for the deployment of Outreach and Missional events across the region. The Shops at Iverson will also host regular events and outreach programming in support of Center objectives. The Center will be nestled amidst those communities served by the Coalition, located at the Shops at Iverson! In order to preserve the mission and spiritual integrity of the Center, the Coalition does not seek governmental or municipal funding sources, rather private donations, foundation funding, and public monies through fundraising events. This “CrowdRise” Campaign is authorized by the Coalition and administered by Feed My Sheep Ministries, Inc. This campaign is launched to secure much needed seed funding to complete Center opening.
