ABOUT THE FUND:
The Grand Valley Music Relief Fund is a collaborative effort across a few sectors - for-profit, nonprofit and public, with steering committee members from Grand Junction Economic Partnership, Creative's Landing, Downtown Grand Junction, and more.
On Thursday, July 30, 2020, at 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM MST, Creative's Landing will host a concert (part virtual/part live) called Riff for Relief, to generate these much-needed relief funds for Grand Valley artists.
The Grand Valley Music Relief Fund will provide grants of up to $500 to musicians who live in Grand Valley, to include De Beque, Palisade, Clifton, Orchard Mesa, Grand Junction, Fruita and Loma, whose incomes have been adversely affected due to the cancellation of concerts, events, classes, performances, and other creative work.
Grants are made on a rolling basis until the Fund is depleted.
The Grand Valley Music Relief Fund prioritizes lower-income musicians and musicians who have no other source of income.
Grants are open to musicians who have lost more than 25% of their weekly income due to COVID-19 closures and who need assistance with basic expenses such as food, rent, medical costs, and childcare.
These grants can be used for, but are not limited to:
1. Offsetting loss of income due to canceled concerts, events and performances
2. Offsetting loss of income for teaching musicians who could not teach during this time because of canceled classes and school closures
Funds will begin to be distributed the first week of September
