A year ago, Amanda Sweet and Joe Nilsestuen rode for The Red Cross and raised $3,200 in the process. That was 62 miles of riding outdoors in Ventura County with friendly people, great volunteers, and an alpaca farm. We were all set to do it again in 2020 then COVID-19 happened. And Joe hurt his back. But thanks to a couple months of rest and some technology powered by Zwift, we'll again be riding for a good cause, virtually, together on May 30th at 10AM PDT. Jacob Fraser is going to join us and anyone who is a cyclist on Zwift can also join the ride - ping me for the event invite!
What's more exciting, anyone at all will be able to drop in on us during the ride and say "hi" by joining our live Zoom video conference (link forthcoming).
During the pandemic, the work of the American Red Cross has not stopped. For example, here in Los Angeles hundreds of Red Cross volunteers have supported the Los Angeles Unified School District to serve over 20 million prepared meals to families and students affected by school closures. This ride honors those volunteers.
We appreciate those that are able to financially support this campaign, those that volunteer and give blood, and those that do any number of other things to support the mental and physical wellbeing of their families, friends, and neighbors.
