For over 17 years I have been a member of the JCC, 12 of which I have served on the Board of Directors many in the position of Treasurer.
During this time my family and I have enjoyed (and paid for) the JCC’s facilities and services, whether it be fitness, preschool, camp or swim club. The JCC undoubtedly provides quality services that our members and consumers happily pay for. However the JCC is much more than a fitness center there are other programs that provide tremendous value to the community at large while also adding to the overall atmosphere that we all enjoy. The Special needs adults program, senior programs, scholarships for preschool, JCrew and camp all create an environment unrivaled by any of the “for profit” options that the JCC competes with.
However, I have learned that the JCC does not include the cost of these programs in the fees it charges its members, in order for the JCC to survive it is dependent on Tax Deductible contributions from the larger community. This year has been particularly tough and has placed quite a financial strain on the organization both in terms of programming revenue as well as contributions. We ask that those of you that have the means please give what you can to ensure the JCC continues to help the community and provide the quality services that you have been accustomed to, also know the JCC will be there for you should you ever need assistance.
We have a group of donors who will MATCH any funds we raise in the next 72 hours, up to a total of $200,000. We could have over $400,000 if we get to that number.
Every little bit helps. Your $50 becomes $100. Your $18 becomes $36. Your $250 becomes $500. Please view the short video above and click on the DONATE link in the top right of this page to make a tax-deductible donation before Friday, October 30.
If you can’t give, please help me grow awareness by sharing this information on your social media.
