This fall I again participated in the Longest Day of Golf to benefit CancerCare, Inc. of Connecticut. This marks my 22nd consecutive year of play. I played 105 holes at The Connecticut Golf Club on October 26th. Since the club generously donates greens fees and carts, 100% of the money raised goes directly to help local cancer patients and their families.
This event has been held annually for more than 22 years and has raised over three million dollars.
Since 1941, CancerCare has been dedicated to providing emotional support, information and practical help to people with cancer and their loved ones. As the oldest and largest national non-profit agency devoted to offering professional services, CancerCare has helped over two million people nationwide through its telephone counseling, referral services, teleconference programs, its office-based services, and via the Internet. All services are provided free of charge and are available to people of all ages, with all types of cancer at any stage of the disease. CancerCare's reach, including its cancer awareness initiatives, also extends to family members, caregivers, professionals, providing vital information and assistance.
I hope you will be as generous as possible in support of this very worthy cause. You can contribute through the CancerCare website per the email sent.
For those of you who are not computer savy, have not received this or who choose to not contribute online, I will be sending a mailing with a self addressed stamped envelope enclosed. All checks should be payable to CancerCare.
Many thanks for your support.
