Hello to all our friends & family, hope all is well! As you know Gino & I have a passion for running and are never scared to try a new track. Short story, we both entered the lotto for the New York City Marathon 2018. In our heads we thought neither would get picked & this would be a thing in the past. Sure enough one of us got picked …what to do? If you know us we are not known to stand on the side line and cheer each other on. We go and share the experience and push each other to get to the finish. Honestly, in the past I rolled my eyes when I’d receive emails to donate money for people to run. After much research & several conversations Gino & I decided one of us would be a charity runner to have guaranteed entry (we are now those people asking for money). To be those people we really needed to pick a charity we believed in & found to be 100% genuine. Most of you that receive this email or can see this on Facebook have a family member in the military, is a police officer or provides service to make our world safe every day! We decided to run for Marine Corps Law Enforcement Foundation. Please check out the website https://www.mc-lef.org/our-people/ & ask us if you have any questions. This is a nonprofit/tax deductible organization. I’ve spoken several times to Officer John O’Connor (I’m sure he’s like she’s calling again) and feel confident 100% of the money we raise will go towards scholarships for children whose parents pass during their time of service. Anyone who has lost a parent knows how horrible it is, we think this is a small gesture we can do to help the families that put their lives on the line for us every day!!! We thank you in advance for any donation you can give. Our goal is $2,500 (NYC Marathon regulations) Thank you in advance, Nicole & Gino Riccardini PS – If you think of any fundraising ideas, we’re open to them. I’ve sold a few items on those Buy/Sell/Trade sites. ½ of the accomplishment I think is how we got to the finish. Thank you!
