Yemen currently sits as the world's largest humanitarian crisis in the past 100 years. The conflict in Yemen has been going on for the last four years with 75% of the world's population (22 million people) requiring urgent humanitarian aid and protection.
Children and women are amongst the most affected in this human crisis, where a child under the age of 5 dies of preventable causes every ten minutes. In the last year alone more than 1 million people suffered from a cholera epidemic breakout with a risk of another on the brink.
Almost half of the population is left wondering when their next meal will be and that's nearly 9 million people. Over 50 per cent of the population lacks regular access to basic health care and an estimated 55 per cent to safe water. Families are displaced and no longer have homes let alone shelters, leaving a quarter of children out of school.
The time to act is NOW! We have the power to change the current realities of the people in Yemen by speaking up and acting on our humanity. There needs to be an end to this conflict and it all starts with YOU! ME! US!
