We need your help to provide safe beds for abused, abandoned, and neglected children.
We are trying to Restore Joshua House, a compassionate neighborhood of homes that shelter foster children with complex traumas. We know firsthand that living at Joshua House has been a life-altering experience for thousands of children and teens. Providing safe beds, therapy, structure, enriching services, and compassionate care can be restorative and healing. Almost every child or teen that enters foster care needs therapeutic homes, and right now, our community needs Joshua House. Pinellas, Pasco, and Hillsborough Counties investigate more than 38,000 abuse allegations annually, and an average of 4,400 new children enter foster care due to those findings.
Your support can mean all the difference to a vulnerable child in need.
After a nearly 30 year partnership resulting in many great achievements, Children’s Home Society of Florida and Friends of Joshua House Foundation are moving in different directions. The founders of Joshua House, a group of concerned leaders that wanted to create a safe place for abused children, built and created this oasis for foster children. They then gifted it entirely to Children's Home Society of Florida.
Children’s Home Society of Florida will sell the Joshua House property in Lutz to the Friends of Joshua House Foundation so both organizations can continue their respective missions. Friends of Joshua House Foundation needs to raise the capital in order to re-open Joshua House. And ultimately, RESTORE these enriching residential services for abused, abandoned, and neglected youth in foster care.
With the sale of the property, CHS will no longer be associated with Joshua House.
We have an aggressive goal, and funds from this Go Fund Me Campaign will go directly towards restoring the beds, furniture, and safe transportation needed to serve 40 children soon to be living in our homes.
