Rescued Pets Movement, or RPM, was founded in September, 2013. Since then they have saved more than 35,000 animals from the euthanasia list at BARC, Houston's city shelter.
They take animals from BARC and foster them out to volunteers. RPM covers all the costs of food, medical treatment, and supplies. Once the animals are healthy and ready to transport, they are loaded into vans to be transported to places where they have a need for animals. There are receiving fosters at the other end who keep them until they are adopted into their forever family.
I have been involved for a couple of years now and have fostered dogs and cats. The animals I have had in my home have been amazing and I love each and every one of them! It is hard to let them go, but I know they are going to their forever families who will love them just as much!
A normal transport day has around 250 animals and we transport every week. We can send more than that, but we don't have the van space. Our goal is to raise $150,000 to purchase 2 new vans! We are competing with shelters and rescues all across the nation. If our team (all of us) raises the most money, we will also win an additional $50,000!
This will mean we can send more animals each week, which will free up foster families each week, which means we can save more animals each week. Isn't that what we all want?
My goal is to raise $3000 for the cause. I can't afford to donate that amount. John D Rockefeller once said that he would rather earn 1% from a hundred people's efforts than 100% from his own efforts. That is what I am basing my campaign on. I want as many people as I can get to donate a small amount. A lot of small donors will help us reach our goal. (I wouldn't complain about a large amount either. Just sayin'...)
You can help! Please make a donation towards this group. Then please share this with the animal lovers in your life! Remember, I want a lot of people to donate small amounts to get to the goal. I would love your help!
Rescued Pets Movement is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit with the mission of saving thousands of death-row dogs and cats by rescue, rehabilitation, and transport to other areas of the nation that have a need for adoptable pets.
