As we approach baby season, one of our busiest times of the year, The Great Lakes Pigeon Rescue has been flooded with birds from multiple mass-dumping incidents. We need your support to intake, feed, and patch up these babies to get them ready for adoption.
The first incident occurred in Hyde Park where an unidentified person dumped ten or more baby king pigeons. The nine surviving kings are being medically evaluated while we try to find housing arrangements for them, but they’re safe, and they have access to food and water.
Meanwhile in Villa Park, baby king pigeons are being dumped every day and we’re doing our best to keep up.
We're still evaluating the specific needs of these young rescued birds, but we anticipate that some of them will require complex medical care. Your support allows us to buy seed, medical supplies, and basic foster setup equipment to give these abandoned birds a chance at a life full of love.
Thank you for reading, we'll keep you updated.
