Since COVID-19, rates for depression for primary caretakers have doubled! Families are isolated from their community support systems, people are birthing alone, and new parents are scared to reach out for help due to the pandemic health concerns AND loss of income.
Pre-pandemic, one in five birthing people in Pittsburgh experience significant mental health symptoms during pregnancy or postpartum. Only half of those diagnosed would be treated.
Access to quality mental health treatment will have a positive impact on a family for generations.
At Forward Allies, we believe that EVERYONE should have access to quality mental health care.
We need your help to support Pittsburgh families and our community!.
During the month of September Forward Allies for Equity in Mental and Reproductive Health, is completing our FIRST fundraiser as an official 501c3 nonprofit. We have a goal of raising $15,000 to directly fund mental health therapy for families, when insurance falls short (and fund other areas of access including transportation, childcare, and technology).
Join us in our efforts to create more access to families in our communities. To help us reach as many families as possible we need your support.
A donation of
- $159 will buy a family a therapy session, childcare and transportation
- $109 will pay for a therapy session for a family
- $30 will pay for childcare during a session
- $20 will pay for transportation to and from a session
Every $1 is one step close to making change possible!
