In December 2019, Typhoon Kammuri (known in the Philippines as Tisoy) roared through the central Philippines. The storm caused very serious damage to all of the facilities at the Benson Peace Village on the Island of Masbate. Rebuilding has began but has been very slow due to a severe lack of funds. We need to bring the facilities back into operation quickly so the community can function once again and promote a peaceful place to live.
These facilities are used for various programs; Summer Camp that prepares children for the school year, The Young Adult’s leadership retreats, The Parent’s meeting space for their livelihood programs, and for families to gather for instructions on health and wellness, for social events that bring the community together.
The 2020 COVID-19 Pandemic has imposed additional hardship on the communities supported by the Benson Peace Village. As we approach the lifting of restrictions, the services provided by this facility will be needed more than ever. Please help us in any way you can and share this with your friends.
Please help support our efforts to promote peaceful places to live!!!
