Relief for Guatemala
As you know, I have been heavily involved in mission trips to Guatemala for quite some time. The nature of this letter, though through the same organization, is of a different and far more tragic one. On June 3, Guatemala’s Volcan del Fuego erupted killing 99 (last count) with over 200 still missing. Those figures will change and it will be difficult to recover given the poverty level of this community and the very nature of this disaster. But since Guatemala is essentially home to our ministry and our charitable organization, we have MIES volunteers directly assisting in providing and even helping administer first aid, distributing clothing as well as providing much needed food and water to the victims of this emergency. We are a small organization but have always had significant support. I ask again for that support. And as I have said many times before, 100% of any donation goes towards helping with supplies, food or water. No portion is ever retained for administrative use. And all donations are tax deductible. Every penny counts and it counts big. Please make kind check donations payable to MIES and note in the memo “Volcan del Fuego Disaster Relief”.
