Welcome to Day in the Dirt 2018! This year, we have 15 different school and community garden locations participating. We are encouraging each team to fundraise leading up to the event to support further VCGN initiatives year round, and rewarding these accomplishments with prizes too!
The garden team who raises the most money for their garden will win a $200 Gardener's Supply gift card. On top of that, the individual that raises the most money will win a spot in the VCGN Community Teaching garden. The classes take place over 22 weeks from summer into fall. Participants are given the plot, seeds, supplies and instruction to grow their own organic vegetables, herbs, flowers and fruits. The teaching pass is transferable too, so if you win and have already taken the class, or have a friend who is looking to grow their gardening skills, it can be theirs too! Many smaller prizes will be awarded as well.
The Day in the Dirt celebration will be held from 12pm-3pm at Intervale Community Farm in Burlington, Vermont. We will announce the 2018 winners here, and celebrate another year of hard work in our community gardens!
