Join Gilda's Club NYC Associate Board members by participating in our first ever Virtual 5K Run/Walk - Red Door Run! Safely gather your family, friends and a few neighbors and join us in raising funds for Gilda's Club New York City. Together, we can help support families facing and living with cancer. Participating is easy - you can walk or run the 5K at your own pace any time between October 1-4, 2020, then record & submit your results through Strava.
Gilda’s Club NYC's mission is to support, educate & empower cancer patients & their families by creating welcoming communities of FREE emotional and social support for everyone living with cancer – women, men, teens, children and their families. Our innovative program is an essential complement to cancer care, providing support groups, educational lectures, healthy lifestyle workshops and social activities. No one should face cancer alone.
In response to the coronavirus pandemic we transitioned our in-person program to a new virtual program where our members continue to participate in the core components of our FREE cancer support program, from the safety of their own homes. We continue to provide support groups, workshops and lectures via digital platforms and we have increased participation by 50% across all activities. We also continue to welcome new members and remain a source of support for the New York City community during these challenging times.
