No-Shave November is a month-long journey during which participants forgo shaving and grooming in order to evoke conversation and raise cancer awareness.
Firefighters are not typically able to wear facial hair, but in the month of November...for a donation of $50....they will be allowed to for the benefit of men's health and cancer awareness!
Donate today to support the ones in RED that run in when we want to run out!
Studies have shown firefighters are at an increased risk of cancer due to the chemicals that lace the smoke and soot inside burning buildings. The toxic gas adheres to their uniforms and absorbs into their skin. Many departments can't afford a second set of turnout gear to wear in case there’s a fire while the first set is being cleaned. Gasses during a fire creep in through their mouths and noses, despite the masks that attempt to protect them.
