The Mustard Seed School Lunch Program in Red Deer is designed to assist families and schools with food security by providing nutritious lunches. In 2019, they made 66,000 lunches for children in need in our community. How many lunches do you think will be needed this year??
The Mustard Seed is continuing to supply lunches to students during this pandemic. Currently, they are making 700 - 750 student lunches every week, which are either picked up by families or delivered through community liaison workers.
In addition, the Mustard Seed has partnered with the Red Deer Food Bank and both school boards, with the support of local churches, to deliver food hampers directly to families in need. This partnership is a beautiful example of the ways that our community can work together to foster hope in these difficult times.
Each lunch costs approximately $2, so make yourself a goal to feed a student in Red Deer for a month ($40), six months ($240) or a year ($360)! Every little bit helps and the sky is the limit. Gather your family and friends, get a team going, and let's work together to make a huge impact on the lives of school children in Red Deer!
100% of all donations for The Mustard Seed School Lunch Program received through the Red Deer PCN Women's Fun Run will go to benefit children in our community. PLUS, every person who donates a minimum of $25 will receive a super fun Lazy One canvas drawstring bag... can be used as a tote or worn as a backpack ($25 value). Thank you Lazy One Canada!!
