Thanks for visiting our page! Julie Gregory and I will be running the streets of Falmouth in this year’s Falmouth Road Race. We have teamed up to raise money for Recovery Without Walls.
Recovery Without Walls is a nonprofit organization that has helped countless newly sober women with financial aid in early recovery for the past 11 years.
Julie and I are both recovering addicts from Massachusetts living in Portland, Maine. We met Bill Dougherty while we were in recovery programs on Cape Cod. Julie and I want to be able to help other woman in the recovery communities of both Cape Cod and Portland. Recovery Without Walls provides structure, safety, support and stability for woman. Since moving to Maine, Recovery Without Walls has expanded introducing a new office in Portland. Bill Doughterty is the founder of Recovery Without Walls and is always looking for more ways and tools to help women battle their addiction.
Bill offers acupuncture services, help with paying for recovery houses for woman in early sobriety. In my personal experience, acupuncture has helped in my recovery process. A few years ago, my addiction brought me to a place where I physically couldn’t walk. I had developed toxic neuropathy from years of drug abuse. After prompts from Bill, I tried acupuncture to not only help my legs, but to heal my addicted brain and PTSD as well. I am very grateful to Bill and his advocacy for the benefits of acupuncture for addicts. When I moved to Maine a few years ago I would tell my story about the benefits of acupuncture. Now with the support and donations from people in our communities, acupuncture is available to woman in the Portland recovery community.
Julie and I are asking for your support in raising money and cheering us on as we run the 10k in August.
