As small businesses were gearing up to reopen after being devastated by COVID-19 and already struggling amid the pandemic-induced shutdown, they were faced with yet another challenge—the murder of George Floyd.
They are now left to pick up the pieces of their dreams and businesses while also mourning with the community.
In response, AEDS has created the Business Relief Fund to meet these needs of local African immigrant businesses.
Your support now will help these businesses grappling with the loss of jobs, services, and investments more than ever.
The Business Relief Fund has made grants to 31 small businesses impacted by outside agitators around the protests in response to the murder of George Floyd.
In order to continue helping our community, we will be fundraising for our 7th Annual Little Africa Fest! Last year, over 12,000 attendees joined in on the music, dancing, culture, and art, and this year, for our virtual event on September 20, 2020, we are expecting even more participants! All proceeds will benefit African immigrant business owners affected by COVID-19! Thank you for donating, supporting, and sharing our message with your community!
