My name is Stacy Hummer. As of 2020, I have now been a veteran for 23 years. I chose to serve in the United States Air Force at the age of 17, leaving just weeks after graduation. It was one of the best decisions that launched my life into a whole new direction which also include started a family. Sometimes we sign up for some things in life not knowing how positively and negatively that course /or event may impact your life. However, when you have learned and have been trained to be a survivor in life and on a mission to protect others, there are aspects that you do not realize affects other family members and impacts your soul. There are also things that we are called to see and do that we can never unsee in life that may have been traumatic.
I accepted Jesus as a teenager but really learned to grab onto Him and the promises of the Bible when I was in the military. He seriously got me through some serious dark valleys, as He has my entire adult life. I have continued striving to unlearn bad habits or overcome the affects of trauma on my life through various small groups and Bible studies, BUT, there was still something missing and some conversations that could not take place. We military and veterans have experienced things to include long seperations from our families and the challenge of reintegrating back into the family upon return from duty, that others do not understand.
Reboot was the answer I was looking for in 2018 because it is faith based trauma healing. It would involve walking alongside other veterans/military and families through the traumas we have faced by authentically sharing in a small group setting, and gaining some solutions and practical tools we can implement to begin transforming our lives. Not only that but learning about the true healer.
We are currently in course/rotation #4 that means this is the 4th 12 week course we have held in the LaGrange, GA area, because of your funding and support. We have witnessed families to include husband and wives healed and grow to new communication levels effect. Will you continue to support us in reaching more military/veterans & their families through Reboot Recovery?
