Again this year, I am participating in The Race to Nowhere, on Feb. 23, which benefits the M.S. Achievement Center located on K.U. Medical Center’s campus, and I would greatly appreciate your support.
At the Achievement Center, my group meets for 5 hours on Mondays doing physical and occupational therapy activities, sharing in support groups, doing brain-balance activities as well as participating in electives which change every month e.g., book club, art, cooking, movement and meditation, yoga in chairs. Guest speakers provide educational information about the disease, helpful resources and answers to our many specific questions.
There are approximately 22 in my Monday group. The sharing of each other’s struggles and successes, the support and encouragement we provide one another, along with the bond we share is invaluable to me.
The Achievement Center relies on donations to maintain the facility, its staff and its operating costs. The Race to Nowhere is one of only two annual fund-raising events for The Achievement Center.
I would be grateful to have your support as The Ready Racers pedal furiously in the 2019 Race to Nowhere to raise money for this incredible program. Thank you for your consideration!
