Dear REACH Community Members,
REACH Needs Your Help.
REACH believes that all individuals have a right to: Respectful – Equitable – Access to – Compassionate – Healthcare. REACH exists to serve vulnerable individuals who typically face stigma in the healthcare setting due to homelessness, drug use, and other mental or behavioral health conditions. REACH serves all individuals without regard for their ability to pay for services.
REACH opened in 2018 and has managed to keep our non-profit wheels spinning since. We currently have 35 employees ranging from MDs to administrative staff, with Physician Assistants, NPs and Psych-NP. We have a robust staff of nurses, outreach workers, researchers, and operational and administrative staff. We hold the healthcare of thousands of the most vulnerable human beings in Tompkins County as well as 34 other counties. We also provide low threshold, stigma free Medication Assisted Therapy (MAT) to thousands of patients who are living with opiate use disorder.
During COVID, through telemedicine and street medicine we were able to expand our services from serving 26 counties (149 unique zip codes) in 2019 to now serving 34 counties (197 zip codes).
Why do people come from so many different counties for care? REACH delivers a unique, patient-centered approach. We meet people where they are. MAT models like ours do not exist in other rural counties. We’ve also just completed the transition to a NYS Article 32 OASAS (Office of Addiction Services and Supports) certified site, which has been a substantial lift, but will help make our model and the delivery of Addiction Medicine services more financially sustainable.
We need your help in order to continue helping others. REACH continues to be the rural safety net for New York State’s opioid overdose crisis and we believe our mission is to continue these efforts to see the rates of overdose decrease again.
100% of proceeds will go directly to REACH Medical operating costs. Anything that you can give, helps.
