More Than 9 Million Children Lack Internet Access at Home for OnlineLearning.
As students prepare to start the 2020-2021 academic school year, there are millions of students across the country that do not have the necessary tools or the finances to purchase the items needed to ensure they receive the education they are entitled to, no matter their financial status. Computers and online access are not automatically available in low-income households, which predominantly Black and Hispanic families make up a large portion of this group. This highlights digital inequality in minority households, as a major barrier to accessing learning. With current school closures and the uncertainty of the future, we need to help these students now more than ever.
As we all navigate through these challenging and difficult times, with an incredible diverse group of corporate partners, Microsoft and AT&T, generous donors, and volunteers, together we are proud to launch:

REACHH EDUCATION was established to facilitate equality and inclusive learning opportunities for everyone. Through our #ReachBackRaiseUp “Always Connected” kick-off initiative we will be providing 500 laptops equipped with LTE (no Wi-Fi, no problem) and monthly data plans to families in need. The laptops will be installed with all of the necessary digital tools needed to upload national education lesson plans and develop resources and study tips for on-line and long-distance classes. Our goal is to empower all students so they can fully participate in online classes with confidence because they have the tools they need, for as long as they need.
We also want to ensure that those that have access, but weak broadband connections, are taken care of. Lower income families do not benefit from the same Internet access and connectivity as others in higher income neighborhoods. While we recognize that these are challenging times for everyone, if you are able to help out, just one donation, can empower a student to thrive in remote learning.
Sponsor a student by:
o Partially funding a laptop with LTE, on-the-go Internet access for at-home distance learning ($249),
o Fund one-month LTE data plan ($99),
o Make a monthly, recurring donation to provide ongoing LTE data plan ($99/month), or
o Please give what you are able (no contribution is too small).
Thank you for helping us to close the gap. To ensure that no matter what, all students are given the chance to learn and grow. After all, if we don’t nurture and protect ALL of these students, we will be diminishing our own legacy of trying to make the world a better place for the next generation. Let’s give them every available tool they need to make the change we all so desperately need and want. #Online #Digital
