Good morning Berkeley Shambhala community!
In the Meditation Hall we have a large metal gong that sings to us to begin, continue, & end our meditations. A wooden striker is used in chorus to create this announcement of mindfulness.
Recently, and strangely, the leather casing around the striker has vanished!
Visiting the Pettingell's Book Bindery on the 1st Floor of the Oddfellows Lodge, Klaus looked into this beautiful opportunity.
Having loads of character & good karma, it seems so much more fitting to seek refurbishment rather than replacement!
Alas, quality craftspersonship has its price: $150 to have the striker re-covered, in red leather.
All contributions are greatly appreciated!
