Rowan County United Way is in need of your support this year as we approach the conclusion of our campaign. Given the current public health crisis and economic climate, securing the financial resources we need to provide quality and effective services for our neighbors in need has become more urgent than ever. The Rowan County United Way’s annual campaign strengthens our community by securing resources and assuring their effective use for the delivery of vital programs. Unfortunately, COVID-19 and its implications endanger the progress we all hope to achieve.
“As a single dad, I needed to receive rental assistance due to my work hours conflicting with the new school hours of my daughter. Thanks to United Way, my gap with rent was closed and it was a huge relief as I started a new job.” – John Benjamin, client of The Salvation Army
Since 1956, the Rowan County United Way has provided citizens with highly effective health and human services. Through the funding of 19 local programs and much more, your United Way focuses its efforts on the most critical needs in our community: Substance Abuse, Mental Health, Healthy Lifestyle Behaviors, and Basic Needs. Because 100% of your donation designated for Rowan County stays here, when new issues such as COVID-19 arise, your United Way will always work to adequately respond to those needs for its citizens.
“Thanks to the therapy and medications I was able to receive, I’m now able to get up and do more things with my kids.” – Aylassa Lacy, client of One Love Community Services
We are still short of meeting our $1,500,000 goal due to COVID-19 restrictions preventing in-person meetings with company employees. We recognize that there is a lot of uncertainty about the future, however, the need is greater than ever because of COVID-19 and we must continue to serve our Rowan County neighbors. Last year, we impacted 83,000 citizens (over half the population) with our funded programs. We know for the remainder of this year and the next, they will need us more than ever. By helping us reach our $25,000 goal, you could ensure that we do not have to reduce services.
"I give to Rowan County United Way because I don't have to worry about where my funds are going. I love supporting the needs of Rowan County and the United Way is the mechanism to make that happen." - Henry Diggs
Please consider contributing this year as we need any and all assistance to continue to provide for those in need.
