COVID-19 Interrrupts our season and changes our campaign.
As we have progressed through the past six months, We, the Board of Directors of RCB had to initially lay off our company until the end of April. Fortunately, the PPP allowed us to maintain the dancers and company and, beginning in August, brought the company back, part in studio and part virtual, to produce the new season.
NOW MORE THAN EVER, YOUR DONATIONS ARE VITAL TO KEEP THE LIGHTS ON AND BEGIN THE EXCITING NEW SEASON!
Rochester City Ballet is the premiere Ballet Company in Western New York. It is our goal to bring excellence in classical dance and modern interpretations to a wide audience for the Arts in the Greater Rochester and Finger Lakes Region.
We, the Company, are millenials and seek the support and interest of all, but especially our peers. Robert Gardner, the new Artistic Director, has a wonderful new season highlighted below:
We are working to create our 2020/21 "Season of Awakening". RCB has planned an incredible line up of ballets including masterworks by George Balanchine and Salvatore Aiello, a world premiere by new Artistic Director Gardner, and a special project by award winning choreographer Kate Skarpetowska, made possible by our second National Endowment of the Arts award.
Now, following guidance from health officials, and adhering to proper social distance protocols, our dancers are returning to the studio for in person training and rehearsals. As we prepare for these exciting performances, we are taking a cautious approach since the health and safety of our community is of the utmost importance. We are mindful of the challenges we face in bringing live dance back to the stage and are exploring life streaming and virtual presentations as the new normal for the performing arts.
Now more than ever RCB needs your support to meet these challenges
No Arts organization can survive on ticket sales alone, so we traditionally are supported by our loyal, seasoned patrons. But together, WITH ALL DONATIONS MATCHED by several generous sponsors, let's show everyone what a groundswell looks like!
