The Home Base organization is dedicated to healing the invisible wounds for Veterans, Service Members and their Families through world-class clinical care, wellness, education and research. As a National Center of Excellence, Home Base operates the largest private-sector clinic in the nation devoted to healing invisible wounds such as post-traumatic stress disorder, traumatic brain injury, anxiety, depression, co-occurring substance use disorder, military sexual trauma and family relationship challenges. Since inception, Home Base has served more than 21,000 Veterans and Family members with care and support, provided over 74,000 on-line and in-person training sessions to clinicians, educators, first responders and community members nationally, and remains at the forefront of discovering new treatments — ensuring a brighter future for the 21st century warrior and military family.
This year, MacKenzie and I will be participating in the 5k Walk to Home Base in support of this outstanding organization. On the morning of July 27, we will make our way through the Boston course and end the walk with the unforgettable experience of crossing home base at historic Fenway park.
We walk for many reasons, but mainly to support those brave individuals who have given so much to keep the world safe and deserve to receive the mental health treatment they need following their service. We hope you will support us in our efforts to show our service members that they can count on us.
