Hello everyone, and welcome to my fundraising page to support the Red Sox Foundation's 2019 Run to Home Base!
For those of you who are not familiar, the Home Base Program was founded in 2009 to help veterans and their families heal from the invisible wounds of war through clinical care, wellness programs, education, and research. As a National Center of Excellence, Home Base is able to help and support those suffering from PTSD, anxiety, depression, substance abuse, and other issues associated with military service.
This is my second year participating in the 5K Run to Home Base, and boy, does it bring back memories of last year. Hot, humid, dying for an ice cold bucket of water to get dumped on my head - but it was all worth it! I got to hear from and meet some truly inspiring people, and getting the chance to run alongside them was a humbling experience. With even more time to prepare myself (and my muscles) for July, I'm looking forward to another exciting 5K.
I want to do my part, and with your help and support, I believe we can go above and beyond my fundraising goal of $600! All donations, no matter the amount, are appreciated; and if you can't give, show your support or sign up to volunteer/run! Uncle Sonny, Uncle Joey, and Grandpa Jim - this race is for you!
