Hey❗ I'm Rascal the Malamute 🐶. I'm a goofy fun guy who would love to have a steak! 🥩. Or any kind of real food at this point! I was picked up in the Spokane WA industrial area after evading the Dog Catcher for 3 weeks (aka... outsmarting, I might add). No one can figure out how I managed to survive that long food wise.. but I am resourceful and really enjoy being alive 😇. SCRAPS in Spokane handed me off to WAMAL (Washington Alaskan Malamute Adoption League) to get me started towards a new fur-ever home. We hit a snag when they found I could not keep my food down. And under that thick fluffy coat was a bony body. X-rays showed I have a constricting band around my esophagus (that's the food tube to my stomach) and so whatever I eat backs up there, stretching my esophagus out. Most of my meal I would regurgitate. Some got thru.. cuz hey... I'm alive. So it started my journey to Portland where I have a great foster mom who feeds me small amounts of canned wet dog food frequently, while I wait for surgery scheduled Match 1st at Oregon State University Veterinary Teaching Hospital. I'm a little nervous. But so hopeful they can help me and that some day I will get to eat a good meal (ie: a steak❗) and then I won't feel hungry all the time ‼️ Please give if you can ❤️ to help WAMAL with my expenses. There are so many of us that wind up in shelters and on the streets that need medical care 🙏🐾
